TECHNOLOGY PROJECT MANAGER
Temporary position - up to one year. Salary dependent on experience. No employee benefits are provided.

JOB DUTIES:
Provides leadership and direction to the software conversion project team throughout the project life cycle (planning, implementation and transition to operational processes); works closely with department management and staff, vendor representatives, and Tom Green County IT personnel to plan, prioritize, implement, and complete projects in a satisfactory and timely manner; analyzes implementation or operation-related problems and develops suitable solutions; recommends policy, procedural, or other changes needed to ensure successful installation and operation of new software system; participates in periodic quality assurance processes to ensure adoption of industry “best practices;” sets up security/access parameters, user permissions, and notification/approver workflows.

Prepares periodic status reports for County Computer Committee; makes presentations at Commissioner’s Court meetings, as needed or requested; oversees training provided by vendor to ensure quality and user knowledge/skill development; performs other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, or other related field and two years of project management or directly related experience. Additional experience in the field of information technology may substitute for the Bachelor's degreee on a year-for-year basis. Experience in the management of computer software implementation projects and PMI (Project Management Institute) knowledge is preferred.

FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II
This position may be filled at the Facilities MaintenanceTechnician I or Apprentice level if qualified candidates are not available at the Facilities Maintenance Technician II level.

JOB DUTIES:
Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC, refrigeration, and chilled and hot water systems; diagnoses problems and performs repairs of commercial and detention facility plumbing fixtures, including commodes, sinks, showers, urinals, and supply and drainage systems; troubleshoots and repairs basic and advanced electrical systems, including switches, ballasts, fuses, breaker boxes, relays, thermostats, and exit and emergency lighting systems; repairs electrical and manual door locks, openers, and related mechanisms.

Repairs kitchen and laundry equipment, including washing machines, clothes dryers, dishwashers, grills, garbage disposals, deep fryers, mixers, ranges, ovens, and food carts; performs light carpentry and furniture repair work; assists with concrete work, roof patching, and welding projects, as needed.

Identifies parts and supplies needed to complete repairs; purchases supplies as authorized or provides list to Department Secretary to place orde; performs other duties, as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Two years of experience in residential or commercial building construction or maintenance, including experience with HVAC systems. Current Texas Class C Driver’s License and acceptable driving record also required.

JUVENILE SUPERVISION OFFICER I
Part-time, temporary employees typically work Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday shifts.

JOB DUTIES:
Directs the activities of detained youth in all areas of programming. Completes daily reports and proper forms necessary per assigned shift. Assists in evaluations. Monitor conversations and actions. Group and individual mentoring.

Sets up meals and cleans kitchen when necessary. Provides clean linen and clean clothing. Launders clothes and linens. Prepares resident’s showers. Conducts door and perimeter checks. Ensures key control. Conducts accurate security count of utensils at meal times.

Conducts room searches and performs pat-down searches. Performs other duties as assigned.

CID ASSISTANT
JOB DUTIES:
Receives property and crime scene evidence obtained by the Sheriff’s Office and/or leased by the District and County Courts; enters property and evidence information into the computer in accordance with chain of custody and office procedures; applies barcodes to evidence items and stores items in property room; maintains property/evidence facilities in an organized and orderly manner.

Researches state and national databases to gather information for investigators or identify stolen firearms; communicates with law enforcement agencies and the public when ownership of stolen items is determined; releases property to owners following procedures or court orders; obtains court orders to destroy or dispose of contraband evidence; prepares lists of unclaimed property which qualifies for disposal through the Sheriff’s Sale.

Registers and fingerprints sex offenders and maintains local and state databases; initiates warrant process if sex offenders do not meet annual registration requirements; gathers daily arrest information and prepares data for monthly Uniform Crime Reports; attends meetings and training sessions; performs other duties, as assigned.

Three years of clerical, general office, or closely related experience; OR, one year of experience in the maintenance of criminal, legal, or court records; OR, an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.

LIBRARY ASSISTANT I

Provides assistance to Library patrons including locating books and materials, use of on-site computers, copiers, and other library equipment; answers basic reference questions and inquiries from patrons; refers more complex questions or issues to senior personnel or supervisors; places books on reserve and takes Interlibrary Loan requests.

Assists in the preparation of materials and displays for Library programs; cleans and repairs video and audio tapes; attends meetings and training sessions, as required; performs other duties, as assigned.
